Markets Open Flat Amid Cautious Sentiment Ahead of Fed Decision
Indian equities opened flat on Wednesday as investors weighed mixed global cues ahead of the Federal Reserve's rate decision. The Nifty 50 inched up 0.05% to 24,984.55, while the Sensex gained 0.08% to 81,492.12. Domestic institutional investors provided strong support with net inflows of ₹4,963.53 crore, offsetting slight outflows from foreign investors.
Technical analysts noted the Nifty 50 broke out of a four-day consolidation pattern, signaling bullish momentum. Key resistance levels loom at 25,050-25,100, with support at 24,850 where moving averages converge. Adani Ports led gainers with a 1.57% surge, followed by NTPC and ONGC.
Market participants remain cautious as the Fed's upcoming policy meeting could sway global risk appetite. 'Gift Nifty is signaling a flat opening today,' observed Hariprasad K of Livelong Wealth, reflecting the wait-and-see approach dominating trading desks.
